Our Story

For Roberto, detailing was never just a job. It’s a passion he’s cultivated for more than a decade. It all started with a collision repair course in high school, where Roberto first mastered his craft and knack for detailing. After graduation, he got a job detailing for Mercedes Benz of Birmingham. A few years later, Roberto decided to strike out on his own. He didn’t have a shop, just a van, a few tools and his talents. It was far from easy. When the van’s transmission died, he had to sell his daily vehicle to pay for the repairs. But his ambition, careful service and commitment to excellence earned him a loyal client base. As that base grew, so did Roberto’s business. He bought a bigger van, hired his long-time friend Austen in 2019 and began renting a space before purchasing his own shop in April 2022.

Today, Roberto is one of the leading detailers in the South. His clientele ranges from dealerships and corporate fleets to individual drivers, daily vehicles to luxury, collectible cars. Despite his success, Roberto continues to perfect his craft, learning new products and processes, and staying up late in his shop to deliver the quality his clients have come to expect.

  • Roberto Quijada

    Owner, Detailer

    The Roberto of “Roberto’s Detailing” discovered his love of cars at a young age. He boasts 9 years of detailing experience and thousands of satisfied clients. Outside of work, he enjoys sneakers, playing and watching soccer, spending quality time with his wife and baby, and driving his (very clean) 2023 Honda Civic Type-R.

  • Austen Lindgren

    Detailer

    Austen, aka “The Tall Guy,” is Roberto’s right-hand man. His height sometimes makes the interior work a little uncomfortable, but he’s never let that stop him from turning in a perfect job in 9 years of detailing. He’s a connoisseur of watches and food truck tacos, and enjoys playing basketball, volleyball, and spending time with his friends when not at work.

  • Debby Padilla

    Receptionist, Photographer

    Debby works as the shop’s photographer and receptionist, in addition to being Roberto’s wife. Her soft-spoken and caring disposition make her a natural at interfacing with clients, while her attentive and disciplined character helps keep things running smoothly. She enjoys spending her time away from work with her loved ones, watching movies and TV shows, and shopping.
